A lot of kids today say that capitalism is bad because its based on “selfishness” and being selfish is bad. Capitalism is not based on selfishness. It is based voluntary trade and freedom of choice.
If you are not selfish, then in a capitalistic system you can greatly benefit the poor through charity. You can donate money to the poor or to people who need an education. This is voluntary, non-coercive and its much more selective meaning more effective than giving money to the State who spend on things recklessly.
