RAB raided a village on the border of India in Comilla Adarsha Sadar Upazila and recovered 29 cocktails. The RAB operation was going on in that house till 3:15 pm.
The semi-finished house is in Golabari area of ward 7 of Panchthubi union of the upazila. According to RAB sources, the owner of the house is Jasim Uddin. RAB has informed that 6 people have been arrested in this incident. The RAB operation started on Saturday morning.
Confirming this information, RAB-11's Comilla Company Commander Major Mohammad Sakib Hossain told Prothom Alo that details would be revealed at the end of the operation.
The idea of the locals is that in the fourth phase, on Sunday, the common people of Panchthubi Union and the reserved women members will go to the polls. Someone may have stored cocktails and indigenous weapons in the house with the aim of creating anarchy centering on that election.
Jasim Uddin's house is about 50 yards away from Golabari Border Operation Post (BOP) of the union. Members of RAB-11's Crime Prevention Company-2 started raiding the house in the morning after receiving information that there were weapons there. Till noon, 29 hand grenades and two chisels were recovered.
Prothom Alo photographer M Sadeq was present at the spot till half past one in the afternoon. He said Jasim's house was half-finished.
