There is no change in the national flag and music of Saudi Arabia. The amendments, approved unanimously by the country's Shura Council on Monday, did not change the two. There are also rumors that Kalema Tayeba has been dropped from the flag. This was reported by Gulf News.

Saad al-Otaibi, a member of the Shura who proposed the amendment, told Al-Arabiya TV that the aim of the amendment was to "prevent damage, distortion and change" of the national flag and national anthem. The amended provisions contain instructions regarding the size of the flag, place and time of hoisting.

The amendment provides for a maximum of one year in prison or a fine of up to 3,000 Saudi riyals, or both, for insulting the Saudi public flag or any other Saudi symbol.

The flag of Saudi Arabia is engraved with Tayyiba, proclaiming the Oneness of God. The color of the flag is green, which is the favorite color of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The flag also has a picture of a sword.
