Children are taught that Fathers are bread winners in the home while mothers are said to be bread bakers. Being a bread winner is used in its symbolic meaning to mean that Fathers should be the ones to provide for the family while mothers manages the home and cooks the food. This is traditionally how duties were and responsibilities were expected of fathers and mothers.

Recently, things are changing and there's is the call for gender equality.

Father's and mother's all have roles to play and mothers now also contribute meaningfully in providing food for the family. Mother's are strong people they don't rest , they can't stand their children go hungry even for a minute and you see great women doing everything legitimate to provide food for the family to support the man.

And through selling the akra, she supports the family not having to wait on her man to bring money for food daily.

Every man wants a woman who is supporting that is why people say behind every successful man is a woman. It's hardly to hear the success story of any man without mentioning either his wife or his mother.
