TOGETHERNESS WITH FRIENDS IN FRONT OF ISTANA MAIMUN-MEDAN | NORTH SUMATERA

Istana Maimun is the palace of the Sultanate of Deli which is one of the icons of Medan, North Sumatera, is located on Brigadier general of Katamso Street, Sukaraja village, Medan Maimun subdistrict. It was designed by Italian architect and built by Sultan of Deli, Sultan Mahmud Al Rasheed. The construction of the palace started from 26 August 1888 and was completed on 18 May 1891. Maimun Palace has an area of 2,772 m2 and 30 rooms. Maimun Palace consists of 2 floors and has 3 parts, namely the main building, left wing building and right wing building. The palace is facing north and on the front side there is a building of Masjid Al-Mashun or better known as Masjid Raya Medan.  Istana Maimun became a tourist destination not only because of the old age, but also the unique interior design, combining elements of Malay cultural heritage, with the style of Islam, Spain, India and Italy. Unfortunately, this tourist attraction is not free from the street vendors
