ONE CEREMONY: SEVERAL FIRSTS
Breaking with history, the opening ceremony will be bold, original and unique. Paris 2024 will offer an Opening Ceremony that will undoubtedly join the most memorable moments in Olympic history, including several firsts.

For the first time in the history of the Summer Olympic Games, the ceremony will not take place in a stadium. Paris 2024 is breaking new ground in sporting competition by taking sport out of the city, and so will the opening ceremony, which will be held in the heart of the city, along its main artery, the Seine.
A ceremony on the banks of the river
The athletes' parade will take place on the Seine, with boats for each national delegation, equipped with cameras so that viewers and Internet users can get a close-up view of the athletes. From east to west, the 10,500 athletes will cross the center of Paris, the playing field of the Games, which for 16 days will showcase their sporting prowess. The parade will reach the end of its 6 km route in front of the Trocadéro, where the remaining aspects of Olympic protocol and the final shows will take place.
A ceremony with free admission for many spectators
Holding a ceremony open to a very large audience, with no entrance fee for the majority of its spectators, is a great first. Spectators will not need tickets to access the upper piers. Spectators wishing to access the lower piers, from the Pont d'Austerlitz to the Pont d'Iéna, will have to buy tickets. Hundreds of thousands of spectators will be able to attend the festivities on the banks of the Seine. Eighty giant screens and strategically placed loudspeakers will allow everyone to enjoy the magical atmosphere of this spectacle, which will reverberate throughout the French capital. The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games will be the largest ever held in the history of the Games. It will be open to all: Parisians, visitors from all over France and the world.
A ceremony designed by and for the athletes
The athletes will be the heart and soul of the ceremony. By opening with a parade of delegations, Paris 2024 breaks with tradition. Already during the introduction and throughout the ceremony, athletes will appear on stage alongside the artists, as part of Paris 2024's ongoing objective to celebrate a Games created by and for the Athletes.
PARADE ROUTE
The river parade will follow the course of the Seine, from east to west, for 6 km. It will start from the Pont d'Austerlitz bridge, next to the Jardin des Plantes, go around the two islands in the city center, the Île Saint Louis and the Île de la Cité, and pass under the eight to ten bridges and footbridges. On board, the athletes will be able to contemplate some of the official venues of the Games, such as Parc Urbain la Concorde, the Esplanade des Invalides, the Grand Palais and, finally, the Pont d'Iéna, where the parade will stop before reaching the Trocadéro for the end of the ceremony

Una ceremonia fuera del estadio
Por primera vez en la historia de los Juegos Olímpicos de Verano, la ceremonia no tendrá lugar en un estadio. París 2024 está abriendo nuevos caminos en la competición deportiva al sacar el deporte a la ciudad, y lo mismo ocurrirá con la ceremonia de apertura, que se celebrará en el corazón de la ciudad, a lo largo de su arteria principal, el Sena.

El desfile de los atletas tendrá lugar en el Sena, con embarcaciones para cada delegación nacional, equipadas con cámaras para que los telespectadores y los internautas puedan ver de cerca a los atletas. De este a oeste, los 10.500 atletas atravesarán el centro de París, campo de juego de los Juegos, que durante 16 días mostrarán sus proezas deportiva. El desfile llegará al final de su recorrido de 6 km frente al Trocadéro, donde tendrán lugar los restantes aspectos del protocolo olímpico y los espectáculos finales.
Una ceremonia con entrada gratuita para muchos espectadores.
La celebración de una ceremonia abierta a un público muy numeroso, sin coste de entrada para la mayoría de sus espectadores, es una gran primicia. Los espectadores no necesitarán entradas para acceder a los muelles superiores. Los espectadores que deseen acceder a los muelles inferiores, desde el puente de Austerlitz hasta el puente de Iéna, tendrán que comprar entradas. Ochenta pantallas gigantes y altavoces estratégicamente colocados permitirán a todo el mundo disfrutar de la mágica atmósfera de este espectáculo, que retumbará en toda la capital francesa. La ceremonia de apertura de los Juegos Olímpicos de Verano de París 2024 será la más grande jamás celebrada en la historia de los Juegos. RECORRIDO DEL DESFILE
El desfile por el río seguirá el curso del Sena, de este a oeste, a lo largo de 6 km. Partirá del puente de Austerlitz, junto al Jardin des Plantes, rodeará las dos islas del centro de la ciudad, la Île Saint Louis y la Île de la Cité, y pasará por debajo de los ocho o diez puentes y pasarelas. A bordo, los atletas podrán contemplar algunos de los escenarios oficiales de los Juegos, como Parc Urbain la Concorde, la Esplanade des Invalides, el Grand Palais y, por último, el puente de Iéna, donde el desfile se detendrá antes de llegar al Trocadéro para el final de la ceremonia.
