32 teams will reach the group stage that will fight to lift the trophy at the mythical Wembley stadium
To date, there are already 26 of the 32 entrants with a secured ticket for the group stage draw to be held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon
The 2023/24 UEFA Champions League will be the 69th edition of Europe's biggest club competition. In total, 32 teams will participate that will seek to lift the trophy at the mythical Wembley Stadium .
Everything starts with a preliminary round made up of four teams (the four champions of the 52-55 associations in the UEFA coefficient), of which only one will advance to the first qualifying round , in which there will be up to 32 teams.
Of those, half (16) will qualify for the second round , made up of 24 applicants and divided into two routes: the one of champions (the 16 teams classified in the first round and the four champions of the 16-19 associations) and the league (the four runners - up from the 12-15 associations).
Later, the third round (20 teams) will arrive, also divided into two routes: the champions route (the ten winners of the second round champions route and the two champions of associations 14 and 15) and the league (the two winners of the second round league path, the four runners-up from associations 7-11 -excluding Russia- and two teams that have finished third in associations 5 and 6).
Finally, there will be the play-off round , made up of 12 teams. Eight teams will arrive via the champions route (the six winners of the third round champions route and the two champions of associations 12 and 13) and four by the league route (the four winners of the league route in the third round). Of all of them, six will enter the final group stage: four through the champions route and another two through the league route.

England: Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle
The Premier League has already distributed its four tickets for the next edition of the Champions League. Manchester City , champion of the British competition, will play the continental tournament for the 12th time in a row. In the current edition they are already in the final in Istanbul after overwhelmingly beating Real Madrid in the semifinals . The furthest they have gone was in the 2020/21 season, where they lost in the final against Chelsea (0-1).
Arsenal , meanwhile, will return to the biggest club competition after seven seasons of absence as second in the Premier . The 'Gunners' reached the final on one occasion, in 2005/06 against Barça, where they lost 2-1.
The third ticket from England to the next edition of the Champions League is from Manchester United . The 'red devils', who are one of the tournament's historic players, will once again listen to the Champions League anthem at Old Trafford after their absence in this edition. They have raised the 'Orejona' three times (1967/68, 1998/99, 2007/08).
The fourth and last ticket belongs to Newcastle . Eddie Howe's men, after a sensational course, will return to the great continental stage after 20 years in the shadows. It will be the third participation in the history of the club.
Spain: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, Real Sociedad and Sevilla.
In Spain there is also all the fish sold. Barça was the first to earn its place in the next Champions League after confirming its twenty-seventh LaLiga championship. The azulgranas, who have not missed one edition of the tournament since the 1996/97 academic year, have won it five times (1992, 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015).
Real Madrid will also play the Champions League next year. The whites, who have lifted the 'Orejona' fourteen times (1955/56, 1956/57, 1957/58, 1958/59, 1959/60, 1965/66, 1997/98, 1999/00, 2001/02, 2013/14, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2021/22), they have not missed an appointment with the biggest club competition in Europe since the 1996/97 campaign.
Simeone's team was the third to ensure their presence in the Nyon draw. Atlético de Madrid is already a regular in the competition and will present a bid for the title for the eleventh consecutive year. The fourth Spanish representative in the next Champions League will be Real Sociedad . An impeccable season for Imanol Alguacil's men, who with fourth place secured, return to the best European stage after his adventure in 2013/14.
Finally, Spain will have five teams in the 2023/24 Champions League . Sevilla , who won their seventh Europa League against José Mourinho's Roma, acquired their particular ticket as champion of the silver cup. It will be his fourth consecutive participation.
