Continuing with the presentations of the F1 teams for this season, today I am going to talk to you about the current champion and strong candidate to repeat the title: Alpha Tauri, the second Red Bull team that began to be called Toro Rosso, making the literal translation into Italian. since he had inherited the entire team of what in the past was called Minardi, based in Faenz.
AlphaTauri is a clothing brand founded in 2016 as an extension of Red Bull into the fashion world. With the aim of putting this brand on the world map, those behind the energy drink made the decision to rename the historic Scuderia Toro Rosso to be called Scuderia AlphaTauri starting with the 2020 season.
The history of this team in the highest category of motorsport began in 2006 following the purchase of the Minardi team by Red Bull Racing, a team for which Toro Rosso and AlphaTauri have historically acted as a youth team and as a junior team.

After a difficult first two seasons, Toto Rosso made history by achieving its first victory in 2008 thanks to a great performance by Sebastian Vettel at Monza. However, that victory was a mere mirage, as the Faenza-based team did not step on the podium again until the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix.
Despite this, Toro Rosso managed to establish itself as another team in the middle zone until the arrival of AlphaTauri, a change that they themselves recognized would entail higher expectations for the team and this has really been the case since its first season in 2020, achieving its second victory of again at Monza and a year later his highest score in the history of Formula 1.
The improvements incorporated in the 2023 season suited the Faenza team very well, with a 'bodywork' as similar as possible to the RB19 that allowed it to reach higher positions in the last races in which Tsunoda returned to score twice. However, the Daniel Ricciardo's car suffered all kinds of inconveniences as a result of a season finale where the components reached their limits, the team closing the season with 25 points, eighth in constructors and improving the 2022 position, but with some frustration at being left alone three points from Williams.

AlphaTauri and the name of its new team: Visa Cash App RB.
This is the VCARB 01, the car of the Visa Cash App RB Formula 1 Team, formerly known as Alpha Tauri, for the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship. A car that will be driven by Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo.
As expected, the Faenza team decided to distance itself from the colors that had characterized AlphaTauri in previous years. The influence of his new sponsors was fundamental to this change.

In addition, you can see some red details, largely thanks to the collaboration agreement with Hugo Boss.
AlphaTauri made a forced change in its drivers in mid-2023 after the departure of Nyck de Vries. Therefore, the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda will continue driving the Italian team's car while the Australian Daniel Ricciardo will accompany him as he begins his thirteenth season in Formula 1.
From the nose to the rear diffuser, the car has changed in terms of its design, with a striking resemblance to its older brother and, without a doubt, that will provoke comments in the rivals' headquarters, due to that technical transfer that they have criticized so much. in factories like McLaren, for example, that feel at a disadvantage.

The front view leaves no doubt that the car is different, with a sharp and trimmed nose, very much in the Newey style of recent years, with an opening at the tip of the cone that has been enlarged for everyone, due to the issue of the better cooling for pilots. The entrance to the side pontoons has been raised and minimized in the 'letterbox' style that was implemented last year in Milton Keynes and which has been extended along the grid.
In the side view you can see the new packaging of the radiator area, much higher and smaller than its predecessor, with a free area at the beginning of the floor that looks like a replica of the 2023 Red Bull.. The only thing What has not changed is the intake area, with the air inlet above the drivers head and the engine cover identical to the AlphaTauri
In the three-quarter view you can see that new middle area with the very small air inlets and the beginning of the floor of the car completely modified. The general aspect is that of a very evident leap in quality in every sense, for a car that wants to enter the fight in the middle zone, where there will be more pressure than ever, on paper.
"Getting back on the podium would be incredible, but if you tell me that I'm only going to get one podium this year and the rest are tenth places, that's not what I want. I prefer a few fifths, without podiums and to show that consistency up front, something similar to me second year at Renault, 2020, which people have forgotten," Ricciardo commented at the presentation.
"I feel like we're going in the right direction and everything I pass on to the team, they put it in place or do everything they can to make it work. I can't ask for much more. Now, it's seeing how quickly new parts can come to the team. The heads "They are in their place and we are all motivated. I feel that RB is no longer a junior team," he says in an expensive declaration of intent, for the Faenza team, which has retired Franz Tost as director to give the former Ferrari position. , Laurent Meekies.
