Then this story will make you think once —
One day a student came to his teacher and complained —
“Sir, I read a lot every day, I read many books, but I don't remember anything! So what is the point of studying so much?”
Without saying anything, the teacher brought an old wicker basket —
which he used to carry coal with.
The whole basket was black, full of dust and dirt.
He said, “Bring water from the river with this basket and show me.”
The student went, but every time he drew water,
it all came out through the holes!
When he tried ten times and couldn't,
he came back angrily and said, “Sir, it's impossible!
You can't bring water with this basket.”
The teacher smiled and said —
“Okay, now take a look inside the basket.”
The student looked and saw —
the basket that was black with coal stains,
now that one is completely clean!
The teacher said in a calm voice —
“Look, your studies are just like that.
You think you don’t remember anything,
but every time you read, your mind is clearing,
dark thoughts and confusion are washing away.
You may not remember everything,
yet the light of knowledge is awakening within you little by little.”
So don’t be discouraged!
What you are reading is changing you —
Maybe you don’t understand it yet,
but one day you will find that change within yourself.
