The Japan national cricket team represents Japan in international cricket. The Japanese cricket team forms the Japan Cricket Association (JCA), which, since 1989, is a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Japan made its debut in international cricket by participating in the 1996 ACC Trophy held in Malaysia. Most of Japan's total matches are played in regional competitions and usually against other teams from the ICC East Asia-Pacific Development Region. Japan participated in the World Cricket League (WCL) between 2008 and 2012, at one point reaching the fifth division. Japan is one of the most economically prosperous countries in the world. The game of cricket could not establish a strong foothold in the country of Nishit Surya. The first British merchants and sailors played cricket there in 1863. But because of trade and diplomatic relations with America, baseball became popular in Japan. As a result, the Japanese lost interest in cricket. In the 1980s, university cricket teams were formed with foreign students and Japanese students. Later, the national cricket team was also formed there. But significant progress has not been seen till date.
The China National Cricket Team is the cricket team representing the People's Republic of China in the international cricket arena. The team is managed by the China Cricket Association. In 2004, it became a sanctioned member of the International Cricket Council.[1] Since Hong Kong became an associate member of the ICC in its own capacity in 1969 as a Special Administrative Region, no players from the Hong Kong team can represent China in international competitions. The colonial powers did not gain much advantage in China. Because of this, the game of cricket did not become popular in China. Besides, the country is more interested in the Olympic Games. Cricket is not included in the list of sports in the Olympics. Because of this, playing cricket in China is not important. The country has some clubs, they play cricket but internationally the country is far from the arena of cricket.
