Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim

Dear reader! Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah. how are you all Hope all are well by God's grace. I am also fine with your prayers and Allah's infinite mercy. Today's discussion is on"The Importance and Power of Repentance: The Door of Return is Never Closed".

It is human nature to make mistakes. But the way to return to the court of Allah Almighty is always open. Islam is a way of life where there is no despair after sin, rather there is an endless opportunity to be purified through repentance. Repentance (Tawbah) means turning away from sin, turning to Allah with a heart full of regret, and taking a pledge to follow the righteous path again.

Allah Almighty says:

“O My servants who have transgressed against yourselves! Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Surah Az-Zumar: 53

This verse is the greatest proof that the door of repentance is always open. Allah never becomes angry with a servant until he repents.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Allah stretches out His hand at night so that the sinners of the day may repent. And He stretches out His hand during the day so that the sinners of the night may repent.”

Sahih Muslim: 2759

“Whoever repents is as if he had not sinned.”

Ibn Majah: 4250

True repentance requires three main conditions:

Confessing and repenting of the sin

Immediately refraining from the sin

And making a firm promise not to return to that sin And if someone has been wronged (such as taking wealth unjustly), then he should make restitution for that sin.

Allah's forgiveness and satisfaction

Peace of heart and self-purification

The path to acceptance of prayers is widened

The light of deeds increases

The path to Paradise is made easy through the forgiveness of sins

Some real examples of the inspiration of repentance

The story of Hazrat Kaab ibn Malik (RA) returning in repentance after he did not go to the Battle of Tabuk is revealed in the Quran.

Hazrat Umar (RA) opposed Islam before embracing Islam, but became one of the pillars of Islam through repentance.

In today's society, we unintentionally get involved in many sins such as evil of the eye, backbiting, arrogance, wasting time, neglecting prayers, etc. These sins gradually blind our hearts. Repentance is the medicine that makes our soul alive again.

Prayer of Repentance

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ
Rabb, forgive me and turn to me, for You are the Acceptor of Repentance, the Merciful

“O my Lord! Forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Most Merciful.”
