Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Dear reader! Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah. how are you all Hope all are well by God's grace. I am also fine with your prayers and Allah's infinite mercy. Today's discussion is on " The Quiet Joy of Growing My Own Plants"
My home courtyard is not very big, but this small space has become very special to me. Some time ago, I planted three trees there just out of interest. At that time, I did not think much about it. I only felt that having some greenery around would be nice. But slowly, a quiet and deep connection has grown between me and those plants.
Let me start with the bean plants. In the beginning, only the vines were growing and the leaves were getting bigger. Every morning after waking up, going to the courtyard and taking a look became a habit. Sometimes I watered the plants, and sometimes I just stood there and observed them. Then one day, I suddenly noticed small flowers blooming. Those white and light purple flowers filled my heart with joy. It felt as if the plants were responding to my care.
After a few days, fruits began to grow from those flowers. Seeing small beans hanging from the plants gave me a happiness that is hard to explain. It was not just the joy of getting vegetables. There was a deeper satisfaction in it. Harvesting fruits from plants I planted with my own hands felt like receiving a gift directly from nature.
Besides the bean plants, there are other plants in my courtyard as well. The eggplant plants deserve special mention. When the first flowers appeared on them, I was truly surprised. The flowers were simple yet beautiful, with soft yellow tones mixed with light purple. Slowly, small eggplants began to grow from those flowers. I watched them grow a little every day. It felt like witnessing life taking shape right in front of my eyes.
Taking care of these plants no longer feels like a task to me. It has become a peaceful part of my daily life. In the morning or evening, standing beside the plants for a few moments makes my mind feel lighter. The worries of the day, study pressure, and other stresses slowly fade away. Being surrounded by green leaves, flowers, and fruits brings a sense of calm that is hard to find elsewhere.
The joy of getting fruits from plants goes far beyond eating them. It is connected to waiting, care, and patience. You cannot plant a seed today and expect fruit tomorrow. It takes time. The plants need regular watering, weeds must be removed, and sometimes pests appear and need attention. This entire process teaches patience. It teaches the value of consistent effort.
In modern life, especially in cities, we often forget these lessons. We want everything quickly and instantly. But plants teach us to slow down. They remind us that nature has its own rhythm and timing. That rhythm must be respected. Spending time with plants has taught me to be calmer and more patient in my own life as well.
There is another beautiful aspect to this experience. Cooking vegetables picked from my own courtyard makes the food taste different. It feels as if effort and care are mixed into the flavor. That meal no longer feels ordinary. It becomes something meaningful, something earned through patience and love.
All things considered, the plants in my courtyard give me much more than vegetables. They give me happiness, peace, and a deep connection with nature. Through this small experience, I have realized that planting trees is not only good for the environment, but also a valuable gift for the human mind.
That is why I now believe that no matter how small the space is, if possible, everyone should try to plant at least one tree. Because one day, that tree will not only give fruits, but will also bring a quiet and lasting happiness to the heart.
