Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) is a symbol of deep love and reverence in the hearts of Muslims. It marks the birth anniversary of the great Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). His arrival was an everlasting light for humanity, guiding a darkened society toward justice, compassion, and truth.
In 2025, Milad-un-Nabi will be observed on Saturday, September 6. For Muslims across the world, this day is not merely a religious occasion, but a precious opportunity to remember the life and teachings of the beloved Prophet (PBUH).
On the sacred land of Makkah, on the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, 570 CE, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born. His birth marked a turning point in history. At that time, Arab society was immersed in darkness—idol worship, superstition, oppression, and injustice were widespread. He came as Rahmatul-lil-Alamin (a Mercy for all the worlds), showing mankind a path of light and righteousness.
Though Milad-un-Nabi is observed differently across the world, the core purpose remains the same—to express love for the Prophet and embrace his ideals. Common practices include:
Recitation of the Qur’an, sending blessings (Durood), and prayer gatherings.
Religious discussions and scholarly lectures.
Processions, sometimes with torches lit at night.
Charity and distribution of food among the poor.
Decoration of streets, homes, and mosques with lights.
Milad-un-Nabi is not only a day of joy; it is a day of learning and reflection. It reminds us:
To embody the Prophet’s compassion, patience, and sense of justice.
To spread love, brotherhood, and service to humanity.
To proclaim that Islam is a religion of peace to the entire world.
On this occasion, Muslims exchange greetings such as:
“Eid Milad-un-Nabi Mubarak!”
“May the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) bring peace, light, and happiness to your family.”
“May your days be filled with love and mercy.
September 6, 2025, will be a day of great significance—a day when we renew our remembrance of the Prophet’s (PBUH) life, actions, and ideals. His teachings guide us to stand firmly on the path of truth, resist injustice, and serve humanity with compassion and love. In reality, the true observance of Milad-un-Nabi lies in embracing his ideals within our hearts and implementing them in every aspect of our lives.
