14 Top US Banks Embrace Bitcoin, Marking Historic Shift

hakim13

As of December 2025, 14 of the top 25 U.S. banks are developing or have launched Bitcoin trading or custody services, signaling a major shift in the financial sector and the mainstream adoption of digital assets. Bitcoin is increasingly moving from a speculative asset to a core component of traditional finance.

Leading institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Charles Schwab, and PNC Group are at the forefront, offering Bitcoin trading and custody solutions, while American Express has introduced a rewards card that allows customers to earn Bitcoin. Other banks, including Citigroup and Wells Fargo, are expanding exposure through custody services and Bitcoin ETFs, driven by strong demand from high-net-worth clients and improved regulatory clarity.

This growing institutional involvement is expected to increase Bitcoin’s liquidity and accessibility, reinforcing its role as “digital gold.” Analysts predict that full integration could bring trillions of dollars into the crypto market by 2026. Despite some banks remaining cautious due to volatility and compliance concerns, the overall trend shows that blockchain and digital assets are reshaping the future of finance.
