While Success is about let's show them we're making progress, Greatness is about let me pour out myself to them.
While Success is focused on the accolades and applause from people, Greatness is focused on posterity. While success is about What do people think about me? How can I make them think in a certain way about me? Greatness is about How will I be remembered?

Your personal pursuit for personal satisfaction and aggrandizement will give you Success. Purpose will give you Greatness. One is about about taking from the society: To amass wealth and certificates, look good, drive a Bentley, marry the cutest spouse, climb the cooperate ladder in record time, etc, the other is about what is given out. I call it service.

While Success is about accomplishments based on variables like skills, college degree, hard work, cute looks, money, etc, Greatness hinges on service, sacrifice, and a life of responsibility for others.
Greatness fights for others.
Greatness is fighting for gender equality. Greatness is fighting for better treatment for common labourers. Greatness is fighting hunger and unemployment in the society. Greatness is fighting for justice, fairness and equity. Greatness is speaking up and fighting against rape and other social vices. Greatness is sponsoring other people's children to school. Greatness is passion for training others and empowering them with social, literary, and financial skills. Greatness is Success gotten with clean hands; a remarkable life of untainted integrity.

Greatness is philanthropy
Greatness is spelt, take your eyes off the reward.

Not every Success will transmute to Greatness, but every Greatness is Success. It is very important that you take your eyes away from Success and place it on Greatness. I'm passionate about Greatness that even though I like Success and enjoy it here and there, I regard it as a bus stop, not the destination. While I'm pursuing Greatness, Success may say hi. I'll collect it; but that's not the goal. It's not difficult to look around locally at our Nigerian celebrities or politicians and see those who are enjoying Success, like the Senator who flaunts his collection of cars on Instagram, and those who will attain greatness, like Umaru Musa Yar Adua of blessed memory. It's not difficult to see.
