I am surprised to learn that partisans have raised Ukrainian flag over several public buildings in Mauripol.
If this is confirmed, Crimea will either be surrendered within days or it will come under intense bombardment. Putin may flee to North Korea and war could quickly engulf Belarus if Lukashenko, the president fails to quickly make good his escape.
The world is in the cusp of history. If Russia's military collapses this way and is annihilated, the global security atmosphere will be just as it was in January 1992 after Milkhai Gorbachev left office and the USSR was in disarray. The only difference is that the disillusionment will be much greater and those baying for blood will be too many.
This scenario could trigger anything from a nuclear catastrophe to a sweep of rebellion and /or failure of smaller nation states held within bigger political structures across the world, beginning from a State like Belarus which is held in Moscow's orbit. The Chechens may revolt and Europe may clamp down on the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. A lot of things can be loosed that we can't even try to foresee.
