Combination of Influenza and War
At the end of the First World War (1918) Influenza was raging around the globe. From an outbreak to an epidemic and to a pandemic. The combination of Influenza and War was extremely devasting and deadly, so told virologist John Oxford at a congres hunderd years later at Ypres (Belgium). Especially young people were at risk. So Dutch Cruiseship Noordam, loaded with American Troops changed into a hospital.

The Norovirus is notorious because of outbreaks at cruiseships in peacetime. Even these small outbreaks are sometimes the herald of more to come. These days cruiseships are harbouring Covid-19 Coronavirus. We don't what will happen now after the China outbreak. Will the epidemic be contained? In Cambodia, many people are infected. They are just not being reported. Especially in the small town of Sihanoukville, where a lot of Chinese people live are many cases. Sihanoukville people are now moving to other towns in Cambodia because they are afraid.
