IS CYBER-SEX/PHONE SEX A SIN FOR MARRIED PEOPLE?

Recently, I received a message from a reader who wanted to know if phone sex between married people is a sin?

He asked, "How should married people handle sexual feelings when they are distance apart, maybe because of work or something else?  

He wants to know if phone sex or masturbating with the mental pictures in the act with your spouse is out of place?

Now,, there's nowhere in the Bible where cyber or phone sex is mentioned. Obviously, in Bible times there was nothing like cyber or phone anything.

But there are principles in God's word to answer this question accurately without a falter. 

If the right scriptural perspective is not provided, our freedom or right in marriage could be pushed beyond the acceptable boundaries of purity.

Cyber or phone sex could fall under the "mutual consent" principle of 1 Corinthians 7:5. But it is also important to realize that the elasticity of our self-control falls within the boundary of time.

Or else, according to the scripture, Satan could tempt us because of our lack of self-control.

Hence, husband and wife who are distance away from each other but now desire to have each other in their arms and cannot do so, are already stretched beyond the elasticity of their self-control.

So in essence, Satan is already tempting them because of the desire of their bodies. 

Therefore, the answer to a husband and wife who are living apart and are desirous of each other's body is to find a solution to their distance by living together.

Cyber sex / phone sex is insatiable to the wants of the body to pounce on real flesh. Hence, phone sex could be the window access to lasciviousness and lust. It could lead married people astray.

Please if you are living away from your spouse and you can no longer hold on, instead of indulging in phone sex, find the solution to help you be with your spouse. 

Philippians 4:8 tells us, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
