I have a tough mind, you can't break me down unless I allow it
I have a strong mentality, made strong by what I've been through
My feet are swift not to mischievousness but to where good tidings lie
My hands are quick to give because I know what it means not to have
My ears are filtered and I only choose to hear things that edify alone
My tongue is the tongue of the learned and I always speak my truth
My mouth speaks words with intent and never to flatter
I say what I mean and then mean what I say
What we go through in life is never an excuse for how we turn out
I've had my backs against the wall and still, wouldn't break
I know we have different mentalities and strength
But the only way to live and grow is to stay strong
It won't always be easy, humans would always disappoint
Circumstances would always threaten and things would always happen
When your back is against the wall, where do you look?
I've come to terms that it won't always rain and the sun won't always shine
I understand that whatever I go through in life won't always last
Tough moments won't always last but if I stay tough, I can outlast them
This is how I am and that's how I got to this point
I might crack, bruised and wounded but I won't break
