Finish the sentence (option one): Below is the beginning of a sentence which you need to finish. Explain what the thing is and why you answered as you did - "The one thing I will never regret in my life is..."
The one thing I will never regret in my life is the experiences I have gathered over the years. Life has tested me and folded me. I have been moulded and folded into so many shapes and dimensions but I have no regrets. I have been learning how to express myself more in poems and let me put that to test;
I often feel the road that led me to heartbreaks should be avoided
I closed my eyes and can't imagine all I've been afforded
I looked back and cursed the way life dealt with me
I just want to crawl back beneath the earth, that's so me
I have had friends leave for reasons known to them
I've had lovers take to their heels with no explanations to date
I've had people point fingers at me that made me look at myself
I've even had family members mock me when I wasn't looking
How did life turn out this way?
Why does everything have to be this hard?
How did we get to this point that is so bad?
All I sometimes see are happy faces with a heart so sad
I almost gave up because I asked myself 'whats the point?'
I have seen my body give way and felt the cracks in my joint
I needed a miracle to make things better, oh my head, have it anointed
But in the midst of the chaos, I found a beautiful summer
My experiences made me who I am and I grew
I see things clearly after taking a coffee that is coldly brewed
With these experiences, the story of my life takes shape as I drew
It's painful but refreshing too like the fresh morning dew
The one thing I will never regret in my life is the path that I took that got me to this point. It was long, hard, tough and painful but I wouldn't have it any other way. Who says others are not suffering? Who says others are not dealing with things too but everyone finds a way to deal with them? If we think it's greener on another field, we should remember it has been watered by a few tears too.
I will never regret the path I took to this point because there is no rose without a thorn and if I feel it would be smooth sailing had I taken another route then I haven't learnt anything up to this point. Like that popular song that says 'no tears' I would say that I have no regrets and my journey in life is the one thing, I will never regret.
