One of the big final matches will be going down later today, that’s one of the signs that would make you know that the season is going to an end. It is a beautiful season with lots of surprises across various leagues and I will be sharing some beautiful and sad moments in my future post.
The Uefa Europa League final match will go down later today in Spain at the Sevilla stadium and I can imagine the kind of energy circulating the stadium having teams like Frankfurt of Germany and Rangers of Scotland in the final of the competition. The last time either of them appeared in the final was in 2007/08 and that tells how much energy the players, coaching crew and fans would be bringing into the match at the Estadio R. Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.
The two teams have different histories in the competition, Frankfurt won the Cup back in the 1979/80 season while Rangers only played in the final of the 2007/08 season but couldn’t lay their hands on the title. The German team will be looking forward to winning their second Uefa title while Rangers will be marching into the stadium with the determination to win their first- European title. Both teams had a fantastic journey to the final but Rangers were impressive throughout the competition.
Frankfurt is the third German team Rangers will be playing against in the competition and somehow they have defeated the likes of Leipzig, Dortmund, and others on their way to the final of the competition. A lot of people do not believe in how far the team has come but they have somehow gone through lots of challenges to earn themselves a ticket to the final, Frankfurt on the other hand faced challenges as well. Getting over Barcelona wasn't an easy one and surprisingly, they were able to survive the Spanish team threat.
Tonight would be a huge and difficult one to predict because it would be the first time both sides would be playing against each other, and neither of the teams can be underrated.
Based on statistics, lots of football fans across the globe have tipped the German side to win the title but I don't think it would be an easy task. The encounter is a must win one for Frankfurt and that tells how much determination they will bring into the match, the team is sitting out of the Uefa spot, and failure to win the title tonight means they won't be playingg in any Uefa competition next season.
Rangers have successfully secured a spot for next season in the Uefa Europa league but the need to win their first European title would make them really unstoppable tonight. The team lost to Zenit in 2007/08 by two goals and it will be disappointing if they allow history to repeat itself.
I really don't know what the outcome of the match can be because I am not familiar with both team's football style of play but Rangers seem to be my favorite because they are the underrated team right now and people fail to understand that they didn't reach that level by luck, they have worked hard to reach the final and the bard work might play a huge role in the final as well.
It is just a wish, football doesn't work that way but I hope the best team wins tonight.
