Noon by the river

furkan

The sun is sitting on the bank of the river,

The water is silent yet the small grammar of the waves.

Ants jump in the gaps in the grass, making a path,

The wind corrects the spelling mistakes on my paper.

The distant bell of the cow, the tinkling of time,

The shadow of the palm tree lengthens and draws sleep.

I count my breaths silently, one, two

The name of the unseen bird resounds in my mind.

The map of the young boat floats in the cup of tea,

When I take a sip, the river suddenly comes a little closer.

The notes of the clouds hidden in the folds of the sky

The melody of the afternoon is written with a crisp hand.

I stand up, there is no hurry, but I go,

I leave a piece of shadow of peace towards the water.
