Well, I have and of course, there's a lot of things around we can all talk about. The world has become nastier and uglier over the past few years that I've been alive. I remember telling some kids today that they didn't respect. Just then, a thought cross my mind and my imagination played back a moment in history when an elderly man told me and some friends that we and kids in general don't respect in this age, unlike when he was much younger. I smiled when I remembered that event. Almost every adult today will say the good old days are better than now but I bet you my last coin, nobody is willing to do anything about it. We all expecting the world to get better, but we aren't lifting a finger to see that through. Could it also be that, the world isn't any worse than it was a decade, century or millennium ago? Could it be that we are just exaggerating and that, there's no cause for alarm? Could the world be getting worse because we are only happy when other people aren't? When your friend gets a boyfriend after you've just been dumped by a guy you thought was your soulmate. What's the first thought that will cross your mind. *I wish our positions would change*. You might not say it out loud, but it probably would cross your mind, and you wonder why you think the world is getting worse by the day. You think because you didn't act on it, you are a saint, well you aren't. You think the world is getting bad because you only see the negatives happening? There are more hungry people than ever, which of course is a very bad thing, but do you also know there are more billionaires today than ever? The standard of living has gone up, but do you also know incomes are higher today than ever? The media, you and everyone else only focus on the negative trends, magnifying them making the world seem like a very disgusting place to be. The rich and powerful people you hear about doing evil, are you aware a lot of them do good. They probably do more good than evil but you only hear about the evil. You probably think the world richest people should use greedy means to amass wealth, and you believe they would all go to hell if there's such a thing, but do you also know the good they do? They are probably sponsoring the research for the cure of cancer but you wouldn't hear about that. What you would only hear is how the rich are manipulating the system to get richer. Well, you probably see the world to be bad because then, it would mean there's nothing you can do about it. If the world is an ugly place, who am I to do anything about it. I mean, there is the United Nations, the United States of America, Red Cross and all those. If they haven't been able to do any good in this world, who am I to make the world a better place? Thinking the world is ugly gives you an excuse to lie back in your corner and just say, well, there isn't a darn thing I can do. Who would like to take on the responsibility of making the world a better place. I bet nobody. The world is getting bad, but it's not worse than it was before. It's been this way over time because you and I only complain and do nothing to make things better. You say the kid the road is disrespectful, but nobody has thought him what respect is. You say the single mother doesn't treat her children well, but nobody has thought her how to treat people right. Instead of talking about it like you've been doing since Adam, why not decide to take action and see if the disrespectful kid continues to be disrespectful, or the single mother continues to be a "bad" mother.
