Didn't do much today. It rained this morning in my part of the world, and even though I wish and hope Ghana develops to the heights of Japan and Singapore, I always cherish such rainy mornings in Ghana.
Things become a bit slow when it rains. I woke up at 7, and got to work at 9 instead of getting to work at 7, and there wasn't any complain as everyone knew it had rained. I love Ghana. There's always traffic congestion whenever the sky's darken or there are signs that it will rain. Everyone is in a hurry to get home. The feeling of being in a comfortable bed whiles it rains...man...just fantastic.
So I got to school after 9 and the kids were playing. I asked why they weren't in class learning and they said, because of the rains. I asked another teacher what time studies will resume and she said she wasn't sure. She said the kids should be allowed to play, and moreover, it's a Friday. Friday afternoons are normally for P.E. or physical education. I came back home after 11 when I realised there won't be any teaching and learning.
Ghana is sweet. But this doesn't happen all over Ghana though, so you don't get a bad rep about Ghana. Ghana is really cool, just that sometimes the "Ghanaian system" takes over and things don't go as they should. But hey, that's what makes it Ghanaian.
Anyways, I got home just before noon, and didn't do much until around 6pm when my friend came to see me. We went to eat around and then sit to have a chat. Because the lights had gone off, wasn't in a hurry to get back home so escorted him a bit before coming home around 10pm.
Lights came shortly and I connected to the internet to check what's happening everywhere, and also get back to posting this. That's what I've pretty much done today. Hope you had a better day wherever you are.
