My strawberries

Greetings, all friends!

I haven't been in the garden for three days, and the weather outside was sunny. I was sure that I would pick strawberries. They pleased me, on some bushes were hanging 4-5 pieces at once and all ripe.

I can only pick the ripe ones, all the rest I let ripen in the sun.

Then the strawberries become ripe and sweet. There is no point in rushing now. I have a wonderful variety and strawberries will grow until the fall.

This is how it grows. I put straw under each bush, so that the berries were clean and they could be eaten directly from the bush. My grandchildren will come soon, they like picking berries.

I picked the big ones separately for the little ones, and I'll keep the smaller ones for us to make smoothies.

If I have a lot of strawberries, I might make jam. I boil it for 5 minutes 3 times whole berries.

I like to eat fresh berries right off the bush. Most people don't have that option.
I had a girl from the Philippines text me that they sell unsweetened strawberries, but very expensive 250 grams cost $8. She didn't even know strawberries could be sweet.

Today I only harvested the strawberries and covered the driveway with grass to keep the weeds from growing. Also to keep it moist and not water the plants often.

If you friends have the opportunity to garden, then by all means do it. You will have fresh vegetables and berries all summer long. And you will know for sure that your vegetables are clean and without chemicals.
