How to be a foreigner in a foreign country

We live in a world where people move freely from one country to another. I read a lot of stories on the Internet about people who move from European countries for permanent residence to Southeast Asia. It does not satisfy them with life in Europe, perhaps life is expensive, for example in England, and they leave for Cambodia, Vietnam or Indonesia. They live on the ocean, work on the Internet, life is cheap, products are inexpensive, fresh fruits and you can buy them everywhere. Friendly people who will be happy to stop and chat. Europeans like all this from Europe. East Asia is another culture where respect is embedded in human genes.

I came to live in Italy by marriage from Russia. Living in Russia, Europe is a completely different life. Although I have lived here for 8 years, I see that life is the same. People live the same life as in Russia. I really like to watch Italian documentaries. Through them, I will learn the history of Italy. And sometimes I see that Italian women of the early 20th century, working in the fields in the villages, harvesting hay or planting vegetables, they dressed exactly like Russian women. The same long clothes, the same shawls on the heads of women, the same calico dresses..I am amazed how this is possible, we knew nothing about each other; we lived in completely different countries, but our clothes were exactly the same!!

 

Although we are all considered foreigners for the original population. It is good if there is no discrimination against us and the local population is tolerant of foreigners. I even made friends with Italian women, they accepted me into their circle. And I see that we are exactly the same on the main issues of life. Italian women are more free. They put themselves in the first place, their life is important for them. They are not looking for men to depend on men. Earlier, 50 years ago, Italian women did not work, were engaged in family, raised children, cooked food, but later, in the era of feminism, women fought for their rights - to be free! And we could achieve a lot. Now Italian women work, provide for themselves, are free in relation to men, the choice is on their side, while they have achieved high respect from men!

The situation in Russia is different. Basically, women can't imagine their life without a man, they all want to be married, have children. This is all wonderful if the choice is made correctly and the woman has found exactly her man and she is happy in her family. And if not, then an unhappy family, children and a woman!

My advice for those who want to emigrate to another country: think carefully, because it can be very difficult to be among people who speak another language. Start your life from scratch and it is much harder than trying to change your life in another country.
