6 thousand Argentine fans banned in Qatar!

Fan groups are always a headache. The host Qatar is taking various steps to make the World Cup, which is going to start in a few days, beautiful and safe. Among the countries participating in the event, Argentina has also taken strict measures. They have banned 6,000 supporters.

Reuters reports that Buenos Aires city authorities have banned 6,000 radical Argentine supporters for their involvement in violence and food bill arrears. Buenos Aires authorities said on Monday that they will not be allowed to enter stadiums for the World Cup in Qatar.

Buenos Aires City Justice and Security Minister Marcelo D'Alejandro announced the ban on radical supporters in an interview with local radio on Monday.


“These fanatics are here and in Qatar. We want to bring peace to football and keep violent fans off the pitch."

"These supporters include baras (violent supporters), those involved in violent activities, 'trapios' involved in illicit street trade and food bill arrears."

D'Alejandro said that they will work together with Qatar's security authorities to keep these issues under proper control.


Last June, the Ministry of National Security signed a cooperation agreement with the Qatari embassy to keep Argentina's fanatical supporters and those involved in violence away from the World Cup in Qatar.

However, the reins of these radical supporters are being tightly controlled by the Buenos Aires authorities. D'Alejandro said that not only in Qatar, about 3,000 of these 6,000 "Barrabravas" (extreme supporters) are also banned from the field in local league matches.

Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland are with Argentina in 'C' group. The 1986 champions will begin their journey with a match against Saudi Arabia on November 22.
