Ronaldo's goal, Fernandes thought too

Cristiano Ronaldo broke into his famous celebration as Portugal found the back of the net for the first time against Uruguay. FIFA initially awarded the goal to him but later changed the decision to Bruno Fernandes. Like everyone else, this midfielder is also surprised. He said, initially he thought it was Ronaldo's goal.

In 'H' Group last Monday's match, Fernandez's double goal won 2-0 and Portugal confirmed the ticket to the sixteen.

However, there is a lot of drama about the first goal. In the 54th minute, Fernandez's cross from the left side deflected the ball and went directly into the net. The 37-year-old Ronaldo jumped to head the ball in the air. He used to be happy when the ball got stuck in the net. Fernandes also congratulated him.


But after seeing the replay, FIFA changed the decision. The goal was given to Fernandes. Later in added time he scored himself and his team's second goal from the penalty spot.

After the match, regarding the first goal, Fernandes said that the victory of the team is more important to him than who scored the goal.

"I thought Cristiano touched the ball. I passed the ball to him. The important thing is that we are going to the next round after playing against a very tough team."
