The bat has runs, but no pace. Shane Watson does not like Lokesh Rahul's batting. According to him, India's top order batsman can be seen at his best if he plays with nothing to lose. The former Australian all-rounder advised Rahul to bat fearlessly in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Rahul scored 2 thousand 80 runs in international T20 and the strike rate is 139.22. He has played 65 matches, 19 fifties along with two centuries. His career is quite rich in all recognized T20 matches. He scored 6,607 runs in 196 matches with 6 centuries and 56 fifties. The strike rate there too is pretty good, 136.90.
But Rahul has been struggling to run fast for some time. He scored an unbeaten 51 off 56 balls for a target of 107 in the first T20 against South Africa last Friday. At one time his run was 36 balls 15!
In all, he has played 9 T20s for India so far this year, scoring 249 runs in 3 fifties. But the strike rate is just 119.13. In Indian cricket, Rahul's low strike rate is also being studied.
Watson is now in India to play Legends League cricket. In an interview given to the country's news agency PTI, the all-rounder said that if Australia bats aggressively in the World Cup, the opposition bowlers will have problems against Rahul.
