Turkey is building a Nazar missile defense system primarily to destroy electro-optic and infrared-guided missiles. Laser beams will be fired at enemy missiles coming from the Nazar Missile Defense System, and such missile defense systems are called soft kill systems. And just as Nazar's tracking system can detect enemy missiles, including enemy anti-ship cruise missiles, from a distance, this missile defense system is capable of intercepting enemy missiles at a safe distance.
In addition to destroying electro-optic and infrared-guided missiles, this Nazar missile defense system can be used in combat missions such as surveillance and surveillance which will make it more effective. Turkey will first build Nazar's land-based missile defense system, which will then be used in frigates and destroyers.
