The old computer system in which a single computer oversees the running of and organization of the computer needs is rapidly fading out and being replaced by large number of separate but interconnected computers which do the job.
A computer network technology are scientific application of various processes on how to interconnect various computer network together. In other words its the synergy between computer network to produce a more organised output or result amongst varying computers at different locations.
It's too priority to note that to obtain a proper computer network technology, there must be a power switch which powers a server which is connected to a router which provides easy access to an internet connection which could produce output through a printer.
INTERNETWORK:
An internetwork is defined as two or more computer network LANs or WAN or computer network segments are connected using devices, and they are configured by a local addressing scheme.
There are about three variants of internetwork principally dependent on who participated in them. They are thus;
- Intranet
- Extranet
- Internet
is a set of interconnected networks, using the Internet Protocol and uses the web browser under the control of an autonomous entity. This autonomous entity creates a firewall which prevents others from accessing the Intranet only specific users. It is basically the internal network of a company.
Extranet:
Extranet is a synapse of network limited to a single organization having limited access to the component beneficiary of the network. An Extranet consists at least one connection with an external network.
MTN provides network services to customers when subscribed on a data plan but when subscription is exhausted, they block access to Internet. By this Extranet you are the external network connected, but a firewall can be set up when data is exhausted, basically for security reasons
Internet:
This is a massive success in technology. It is a massive global system that connects computers in private, public, academic, government parastatals. It utilizes the World wide web as it's signature route. It could reach various individuals making the world a global village where access could be reached easily and faster.
