Greetings everyone. 

Hope we all are doing great? In the previous post made by @alendo some users were caught plagiarizing which basically made them look unprofessional. However, this post has a purpose of teaching what plagiarism is, reasons why people plagiarize and how to avoid plagiarism. So, pull a cushion, sit back, relax and let's go through this together. 

 

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

The word plagiarism basically mean word theft. Plagiarism doesn't only happen in serey,but also in many other platforms like steemit,blurt, and even hive e.t.c.

Plagiarism can be defined as the act of stealing another writers sentence,article or even images without giving proper referencing to the original author. It's an act of illegality and it reduces a writers reputation in a particular platform. 

 

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

There are different types of plagiarism, ranging from self plagiarism to accidental plagiarism. These includes:

SELF PLAGIARISM

MOSAIC PLAGIARISM

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM

DIRECT PLAGIARISM

 

SELF PLAGIARISM:

This is one type of plagiarism characterized by self copy. Self plagiarism occurs when an author copy's a sentence from their previous post to a current post without giving reference to the previous post.. for example: 

The determinant of wether or not you make the best out of life is dependent on your ability to adapt to the unfavourable conditions of life and utilize perfectly the beautiful times you've got in life. Text source

The sentence above was gotten from as pot I made sometime back,it'll be plagiarism if I don't give reference to that post, and the type of plagiarism it'll be is called "Self plagiarism," that's why I had to do a citation. Click on he word "source" to visit original post.

 DIRECT PLAGIARISM:

When an author copies all of the work of another author, or some section of another authors work/article without giving credit(reference) to the author, it is termed direct plagiarism. For example: 

The tongue they say is small yet powerful. It is referred to as a two edged sword by the Bible. It has the power to kill and give life.

In almost every other nursery School all over the world, this song reigns supreme!

As you can see,that section was gotten from another author, and had it been I didn't vote a source,it'll be termed plagiarism. 

 

MOSAIC PLAGIARISM:

This is a reoccurring type of plagiarism between authors in today's world.. it occurs when an individual uses phrases, or clauses that doesn't belong to them without giving adequate citation. But apparently,this type of plagiarism is not relevant when it comes to the blockchain, because there are many many similar phrases. 

 

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM:

This is another type of plagiarism, and it occurs when an author copy's another authors work without giving proper citation. 

It occurs mainly due to ignorance. 

 

REASON AUTHORS PLAGIARIZE

From my point of view, the reasons why authors research are as follows. 

1. Ignorance 

2. Laziness to use the tools for plagiarism check

3. Some authors want to feel smart and want the credit of other authors, however they tend to steal another authors work without citation. 

4. Lack of knowledge about the appropriate plagiarism checker tool. 

5. Lack of knowledge about plagiarism and how to avoid it. 

 

HOW TO CITE A SOURCE

It is very important to know how to cite a source appropriately because it not only help you avoid plagiarism, but it also make your work look more professional. Hike steemit and other platforms where an author have to use codes like:

Espero que todos estemos muy bien? En la publicación anterior hecha por @alendo, algunos usuarios fueron atrapados plagiando, lo que básicamente los hizo parecer poco profesionales. Sin embargo, esta publicación tiene el propósito de enseñar qué es el plagio, las razones por las que las personas plagian y cómo evitar el plagio. Entonces, tome un almohadón, siéntese, relájese y pasemos por esto juntos. 

 

¿QUÉ ES EL PLAGIO? 

La palabra plagio básicamente significa robo de palabras. El plagio no solo ocurre en Serey, sino también en muchas otras plataformas como Steemit, Blurt e incluso Hive, etc. El plagio se puede definir como el acto de robar la oración, el artículo o incluso las imágenes de otro escritor sin dar la referencia adecuada al autor original. Es un acto de ilegalidad y reduce la reputación de los escritores en una plataforma en particular. 

 

TIPOS DE PLAGIO

 Existen diferentes tipos de plagio, que van desde el autoplagio hasta el plagio accidental. Estos incluyen: 

 

AUTO PLAGIO 

PLAGIO DE MOSAICO 

PLAGIO ACCIDENTAL

 PLAGIO DIRECTO

 

 AUTO PLAGIO: Este es un tipo de plagio caracterizado por la autocopia. El autoplagio ocurre cuando un autor copia una oración de su publicación anterior a una publicación actual sin hacer referencia a la publicación anterior... por ejemplo: 

El determinante de si sacas o no lo mejor de la vida depende de tu capacidad para adaptarte a las condiciones desfavorables de la vida y utilizar perfectamente los hermosos momentos que tienes en la vida. fuente de texto 

La oración anterior se obtuvo de una olla que hice hace algún tiempo, será plagio si no doy referencia a esa publicación, y el tipo de plagio que será se llama "autoplagio", es por eso que tuve que hacer una cita. Haga clic en la palabra "fuente" para visitar la publicación original. 

PLAGIO DIRECTO: Cuando un autor copia todo el trabajo de otro autor, o alguna sección del trabajo/artículo de otro autor sin dar crédito (referencia) al autor, se denomina plagio directo. Por ejemplo: 

La lengua dicen que es pequeña pero poderosa. La Biblia se refiere a ella como una espada de dos filos. Tiene el poder de matar y dar vida. ¡En casi todos los demás jardines de infancia del mundo, esta canción reina supremamente! "Hay cinco palabras mágicas que conozco. Gracias, lo siento, por favor discúlpeme y el último, perdóneme" Uno podría preguntarse cómo estas palabras son "mágicas" y qué las hace tan especiales. Como puede ver, esa sección se obtuvo de otro autor, y si no hubiera votado una fuente, se denominaría plagio.

PLAGIO EN MOSAICO: Este es un tipo de plagio recurrente entre autores en el mundo actual. Ocurre cuando un individuo usa frases o cláusulas que no le pertenecen sin dar la cita adecuada. Pero aparentemente, este tipo de plagio no es relevante cuando se trata de blockchain, porque hay muchas, muchas frases similares. 

PLAGIO ACCIDENTAL: Este es otro tipo de plagio, y ocurre cuando un autor copia el trabajo de otro autor sin dar la cita adecuada. Ocurre principalmente debido a la ignorancia.

 

 RAZÓN POR LA QUE LOS AUTORES PLAGIAN

 Desde mi punto de vista, las razones por las que los autores investigan son las siguientes.

 1. Ignorancia 

2. Pereza para utilizar las herramientas de control de plagio 3. Algunos autores quieren sentirse inteligentes y quieren el crédito de otros autores, sin embargo, tienden a robar el trabajo de otro autor sin citarlo. 

4. Falta de conocimiento sobre la herramienta de verificación de plagio adecuada.

5. Falta de conocimiento sobre el plagio y cómo evitarlo. 

 

CÓMO CITAR UNA FUENTE

 Es muy importante saber citar una fuente de manera adecuada porque no solo te ayuda a evitar el plagio, sino que también hace que tu trabajo se vea más profesional. Hike Steemit y otras plataformas donde un autor tiene que usar códigos como:

CONCLUSIÓN

 es muy importante que los autores eviten el plagio porque yo El plagio es un mal acto que reduce la reputación de una persona en una plataforma en particular. En otros, para evitar el plagio, se debe hacer una cita adecuada en cualquier oración o imagen que no sea suya.
