RUBY FLOWERS polimer clay. Tutorial

Today we are going to sculpt two large flower rings and a hairpin from polymer clay.

To blind such a flower is quite simple and a beginner can cope with it. Only one nuance - if you want to try to make such a set, in order to learn, it is better to sculpt smaller flowers. Because such large petals as mine require a certain skill and experience.

Requires a minimum of tools:
toothpicks
office knife or blade
tile or A4 paper as a work surface
accessories for rings and hairpins

Used polymer clay of the Polish company "Plastiška", color "Ruby".

Mash a piece of plastic and cut into segments.

In order for the ring to be worn for a long time and the flower to hold firmly, I stick the base on the reverse side. And then I will attach the petals immediately to her. Although in the course of work you will have to be more careful, but thanks to this nuance, the product is worn much longer than if you stick a baked flower on the super-glue.

I take a piece of clay and roll a cake out of it.

Then do the streaks and texture with a toothpick.

So do the five petals for the bottom row.
Snapped off some clay from the widest part of each petal.

Now, with the help of a toothpick, I attach all the petals to the base. In order for the ring not to be deformed in the process of work, I put it in a cutter mold (then I bake it on it too).

In the same way, I make three more petals for the next row and attach them with a toothpick.

Then the following petals.

Please note, the last petal should be positioned so as to close traces of a toothpick.

Toned the reverse side with gold pigment.

Now you need to make a flower for hairpins. I will do it separately, on a tile, and then stick it to the base for the hairpin. Basics stick around with clay and so bake.

Making a flower on a plane is much easier than on a base for a ring. Therefore, I recommend to practice on this method. By the way, if you roll a pin into a flat cake, then you can attach a ring and wear such a flower as a pendant. Or perform two flowers for earrings. The way of a molding is universal.

The ring, barrette and flower are ready for it, you can bake it. Diameter of colors 3.5 - 4 cm.

For the set, I made more balls for earrings.

 

I bake and collect earrings-balls.
I glue the flower to the clip on the super-glue, using a backing from a piece of foamiran for reliability.

The customer was very pleased, on the same evening showed a set to a friend, who liked the jewelry very much and I urgently ordered another same ring, but a bit larger and with gold streaks.

The next day I had to fulfill this order:

For toning used eye shadow and gold pigment, a little darker shade.
It is convenient to apply dry dye with a brush for manicure patterns with a beveled edge.

I'm baking. When baking, the golden pigment is securely fixed and the product does not need additional varnishing.
