Do you love stars? I am very. As a child, my grandfather often woke me up in the middle of the night and said, "Let's go look at the stars." We went out into the yard and he showed me the constellations and told me a lot of interesting things. These memories still live in me.
When I got older, I watched a lot of programs about the structure of our universe. I was fascinated by supernovae, quasars, black holes, space-time, gravity and so on.
I wanted to reflect my love for space in my polymer clay jewelry. They remind me of constellations and travels into the unknown.
I was very interested to know that one of NASA's developments is dichroic glass. This is a special glass on which the thinnest layers of oxides of various metals, including gold and silver, are applied. Dichroic glass is used in the optics of space instruments, as well as in space suits.
At the same time, dichroic glass looks amazingly beautiful. This was noticed by jewelers and began to use a similar technology when creating jewelry. And later, those who, like me, sculpt from polymer clay, noticed. I really liked this technique of imitation of dichroic glass and I use it when creating my jewelry.

In this keychain I put the idea of three unique stars from Orion's Belt. They are called Alnitak, Mintaka and Alnilam. More commonly known as Orion's Belt, these three blue supergiants are much more massive and hotter than the Sun. They are about 1,500 light years away. They were once born in the well-researched interstellar clouds of Orion. I have always been inspired by space and distant, mysterious stars ... Such amazing power and beauty!
Earlier I showed you earrings, rings and brooches that I sculpted from polymer clay. Today I will show you a keychain with double-sided elements. I want to say that I tried to do double-sided elements for the first time. And I really liked it! So, to be continued!
I decided to make a small overview of how I sculpted this keychain.
Tools and materials:
* black polymer clay
* glass cabochon lenses
* potal
* colored pigments gold and dark gold
* paste machine for rolling polymer clay
* tassels
* dots with a ball at the end
* stationery knife or blade
I roll out black polymer clay with gold leaf into a thin layer. I spread a pair of lenses on the places where the leaf is most beautifully cracked.
I cut out along the contour, create a frame from polymer clay and connect the two lenses so that they become one whole and each element of the keychain has two beautiful sides.
I tint with gold pigment and send it to the oven to bake.
After that I put the elements on the chain and the keychain is ready!
