Foamiran red Roses. DIY (from my creative archive #13)

Today I want to show how you can make a rose out of a wonderful material - foamiran. Such a flower can be an independent accessory (brooch, decoration for the cap, hairpin) or part of the flower arrangement.

 

Tools and materials:

* Foamiran red and green
* iron
* scissors
* glue gun
* foil
* acrylic paint (optional)

First you need to cut the future flower petals.
For this, I cut the foamiran into strips 5-6 cm

I fold the strip several times, as shown in the photo, draw the outline and cut it out. Thanks to this method, work goes faster.

I cut out petals of two sizes, because I want to make roses of different diameters.

If desired, you can slightly tint the edges of the petals with acrylic paint or pastel. To do this, squeeze out a little paint, and wrap a finger with a damp cloth and paint each petal on both sides.

The next stage is heat treatment. To do this, turn on the iron at an average temperature. Each petal is applied for a few seconds to the iron, and then we fold the accordion and squeeze the scrolling movements with our fingers.

The photo clearly shows the difference between raw and finished petals.

From the green foamiran we cut out triangular strips, from which we will make sepals.

Slightly incise them around the edges and process a little on a hot iron.

Getting to the assembly of the flower. From the foil we make a droplet base, which we gradually paste over with petals, forming the desired shape of the rose.

I use a hot glue gun. He sticks foamiran very well and is comfortable to use.

Gluing sepals and rose ready!

 

As I have already said, such a flower can be found a lot of decorative applications. Rose can be glued or sewn to the base of felt and use, as prompted by your imagination.
