YOU ARE SPARED BY GRACE

 > ### And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord: Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life. (Genesis 19:18-19)  ###

Beloved, grace spares us even from the worst of life. It gives us what we need, rather than what we deserve. It gives hope in the most hopeless and helpless situation. Grace secures mercy for the unqualified and the undeserving. God’s grace never abandons his own even in their worst condition.

 ### LET US CONSIDER SOME WAYS GRACE WORKED FOR LOT. *** *** ### 1 He was treated with consideration instead of condemnation. > “And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.” (Genesis 19:1-3).  ### 2 He was delivered when he should have been destroyed. > “And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city” (Genesis 19:16).  ### 3 He was accepted when he could have been rejected. > “And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him” (Genesis 19:6).  ### 4 He was covered when he was to be consumed. >“And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city” (Genesis 19:15).  ### THINGS THAT WILL FUEL GRACE FOR PRESERVATION. *** *** ### 1 Live in obedience to God’s word. > “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation …” (Revelation 3:10)  ### 2 Cry to God in prayer and intercession. Abraham’s prayer secured mercy for Lot.  ### 3 Separate yourself from sin and worldly compromise. > “Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them” (Proverbs 22:5). ### Lot’s calamities began when he entangled himself in the life and ways of Sodom. He had to come out.  ###  ###
