"Stand fast therefore in the liberty where with Christ hath made us free, and, be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage" (Galatians 5:1).

Captivity is a serious bondage; therefore, every captive will do everything humanly possible to gain freedom. Such a person negotiates, makes contacts and accepts to pay any ransom to ensure his freedom. It is at this point that he or she appreciates the liberty enjoyed outside his confines.
In our text and key verse today, the scripture reminds us that our liberty was bought at a price. We are therefore encouraged to remain steadfast in that liberty which our Lord Jesus Christ bought for us with His precious blood on the cross. He paid the unquantifiable ransom for our soul. This simply means that we are no longer our own; that is the life we live is not ours any more but the Lord's. Yet, many Christians do not live up to that. Can anyone having paid fully for a property, be happy to see the same property he paid for being used, occupied,h managed, or taken over by another? That is exactly the story of many Christians.
For the sake of what is before them, many have set aside their faith and carried back the load of sin, cares and worries of this world that they were entrenched in before embracing Christ.
But today, we are called to live worthy of our Master that redeemed our lives from the shackles of sin and to stand
firm, strong and sure irrespective of storms that may come our way. We have no reason to return to Egypt, our past sins. As Jesus has conquered and given us victory over the world and all its attractions, we should hold tenaciously tothat victory.
Allow the Spirit of God to be your guard and guide. Walk in Him so that you fulfill not the desires of the flesh contained in our main text today (Galatians 5:19-21). Like an athlete running for a price, run with a focus on the finish line and the price. Stop looking back or don't ever look back, the price is in front and not behind. The storms of life might be very turbulentbut run on, push on; you can only finish strong if you remain focused on the Redeemer of your soul.
Your freedom was bought with an inestimable price, hold fast to it.
