It is not every living thing that depicts a good living. In the same vein it is not every living thing that is acceptable and
sacrificial. The blessings of God are numerous compared to what we can offer to Him, because all gifts come from Him (James 1:17). Sacrificial Living is living for the course of the kingdom (Luke 9:23-24). It is seeking first the kingdom of God (Mathew 6:33) and supporting the work of God. Living a sacrificial life is voluntary. It withholds nothing and well pleasing to God. Sacrificial living is one that is invested in furthering the cause of Christ. Because of God's great compassion on us in offering salvation through Jesus, we ought to please God in our daily lives. We ought to yield our bodies, a living
sacrifice.
Our bodies are all we have to offer because we live in them. God wants us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices. That means daily laying aside our own desires to follow Him in putting our bodies at His disposal and trusting Him to guide us.
It is to be completely set apart for God and dedicated to His service. There are rewards that accrue to sacrificial Living it assures quality health (Exodus 23:25), longevity (Exodus 23:26), prosperity (Job 36:11) and eternal life (Luke 9:26). There's no assurance a man can have anywhere compared to the assurance of living a sacrificial life with God. We love to sing of such reasonable sacrifice in this way:
Were the whole realms of nature mine,
That were a present far too small
Love so amazing, so Divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
Are we prepared to live as sacrificially as we sing?
Nothing can compare to Lord Jesus in His own self-sacrifice.
