JOSEPH: THE DREAMER

"Then they said to one another, Look, this dreamer is coming!." (Ezek. 22:30, NKJV)

The story of Joseph, who went from slave in Genesis 39 to a prisoner in Genesis 40 to a Prime Minister over the entire nation of Egypt in Genesis 41 started in Genesis 37. Through Joseph, we learn how suffering, no matter how unfair, develops strong character and deep wisdom. His trials and troubles should be considered from both the human standpoint, and the Divine standpoint.

Joseph was highly loved and favoured by his father because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colours (v.3)

The father's unreserved love instigated his brothers' hatred (v.4) Joseph was a dreamer. He had two major dreams (vv.5-11)
His brothers changed his name to the "dreamer"(v.19) Joseph was sold by his own brothers for twenty shekels of silver (v. 28)

Dreamers face persecutions and oppositions from friends, colleagues, and sometimes family members. Most times God allows it for proper training for future ministry. When viewed from Divine side, Joseph's difficult years were permitted for the purpose of training and preparing him for the great work that lay before him in Egypt. You may not understand the reasons for your present difficulties, but perhaps God is preparing you for a great task ahead. Joseph said to his brothers "Now do not be upset or blame yourselves because you sold me here. It was really
God who sent me ahead of you to save people's lives" (Gen. 45:5, GNB). The brothers helped Joseph to reach his God-appointed place of elevation (Rom. 8:28).

God may lead you to your place of fulfillment through trials
