MARRIAGE
"Submitting to one another in the fear of God" (Eph. 5:21, NKJV)

Marriage is an unconditional, lifetime commitment. It is the intimate union and equal partnership of a man and a woman. Marriage is ordained of God, who created male and female in his image. The Biblical standard for marriage is one-man-one-wife relationship in which a man and a woman share a lifetime commitment to each other, second only to their commitment to God.
According to Scriptures, marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers God will judge (Heb. 13:4).
Marriage serves two major purposes :
(A) It serves as a human object lesson of the divine relationship between Christ and the Church (Eph. 5:22-33) ;
(B) It is the foundation for the family.
Ingredients suggest certain things or qualities that are necessary to make something successful. Ingredients act a spices that add to taste. The following are some vital ingredients that would create a healthy, happy long-lasting
relationship in marriage
A. Honesty. This suggests that a spouse should always tell the truth to each other. Nothing should be hidden from each other(Gen. 2:25).
B. Love. Christian love is agape love. Agape is a special kind of love. It means treating others as God treats them. Husband/wife must be willing to learn each other's primary love language if they are to be effective communicators of love.
C. Good Communication. Effective communication in marriage helps husband/wife in mutual exchange of ideas, thoughts, information and feelings. Lack of proper communication is one of the major causes of marriage breakdown.
D. Understanding. Mutual understanding in marriage leads to more intimacy in
relationships.
E. Submission. The secret to a happy marriage is submitting to each other (Eph.5:21). Submission does not indicate inferiority. It is a voluntary act. It serves as an expression of submission to the Lord Jesus.
F. Sexual Faithfulness. Sex is vital to a healthy marriage. Sex is a God-given gift to promote oneness, intimacy, and pleasure (in addition to procreation) in marriage. Mutual sex in marriage is like lubricants that makes smooth running of marital relationship. Sex outside of marriage is sin.
The six ingredients itemized above can serve as lubricants to happy marriage in the mist of turbulent marriages faced in our world today
