Hello prestigious people!
Please enjoy this beautiful piece.
The same hospital room housed two seriously ill men. One man was given permission to spend an hour each afternoon sitting up in bed to aid in the drainage of the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the only window in the space. The other man was forced to lie flat on his back the entire time. The men conversed for many hours. Every afternoon, when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by telling his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. They would talk about their wives and families, homes, jobs, involvement in the military, where they had been on vacation, etc. The man in the other bed started to look forward to those hour-long periods when his world would be expanded and brought to life by all the outside activity and color. The view from the window was of a park with a lovely lake. Children were sailing their model boats while ducks and swans played in the water. Young couples strolled hand in hand among colorful flowers, and in the distance, one could see a beautiful view of the city skyline. The man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and picture this picturesque scene as the man by the window described everything in exquisite detail. The man by the window described a parade that went by one warm afternoon. The other man was unable to hear the band, but he was still able to visualize it thanks to the description the man by the window provided.
Months, weeks, and days passed. The man by the window had passed away peacefully in his sleep when the day nurse arrived one morning to bring water for their baths. She requested the hospital staff to remove the body out of sadness. The other man asked to be moved to the window as soon as it seemed appropriate. After ensuring his comfort, the nurse was glad to switch over and left him alone. He slowly raised himself up on one elbow to get his first glimpse of the outside world. He struggled as he turned slowly to face the bedside window. It was facing a bare wall. The man questioned the nurse about what might have prompted his deceased roommate to speak so highly of the scene outside this window. The man was blind, the nurse retorted, and he could not even see the wall. "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you," she said.
The main takeaway from this story is that it is still possible to reach out and make a difference in other people's lives, just like the blind man in the previous story, even when one is faced with obstacles and challenges. He is experiencing happiness as a result of making his roommate happy. Whatever your situation, if you want to feel happy, just make someone else happy. Give love to others if you want to feel love. This is a straightforward life lesson.
Thanks for coming around!
