Richarlison says World Cup pain 'harder than losing a loved one'

It was a month after the end of the World Cup in Qatar. After leaving the national team, the players are busy with club football again. But Richarlison still cannot forget the disappointment of the World Cup. The pain of returning empty-handed with sky-high dreams is burning this Brazilian forward.

Brazil started the season in Qatar as one of the top favourites. After becoming the group champion, Tit's team beat South Korea 4-1 in the last sixteen. The record five-time world champions were stopped by Croatia in the quarter-finals.


The battle for the last four ended in a 1-1 draw after regulation and extra time. After that, the Croats got the ticket to the semi after beating Brazil in the tiebreaker. Neymar, Richarlison left in tears.

In an interview given to ESPN last Monday, Richarlison highlighted the disappointing experience of the World Cup. The 25-year-old footballer is hopeful of doing better in the future even though it is a big shock to leave like this.
