According to the BBC, the extradition bill has led to violent protests in Hong Kong for months. The bill has now been withdrawn, but protests continue and protesters are demanding comprehensive steps for democratic reform. "In view of the current situation, the Hong Kong Tennis Association (HKTA) and the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) are announcing the postponement of the 2019 Hong Kong Tennis Open," the HKTA said in a statement.
