In 7 centuries ago, Cambodia was really famous with arts. There were many artists in the whole country, like carvers, dancers, music makers, painters. The most famous were carvers and Apsara dancers (RobamTep Absor) in English is angels dance.
During that time, people dress them self half naked. For them were really normal, but for us nowadays is too sexy. Every time when there was a show for the kings, most of the Apsara dancers were half nacked. Most of the dancers need to have a small tiny body with big tight breasts and a big tight bottom. Of course they need to have also very flexible body. All the dance styles had a meaning as you can see in the picture below.

The Apsara dance became the heart of Khmer classical dance in during the king suryavarman II (1113- 1145). In 1900 Cambodian culture became more strict, when the french came to colonies in Cambodia. The french had changed the Cambodian, learn how to wear extra clothes. The king not allow to have sexy Apsara dancers anymore in Cambodia. Everyone need to wear good cover clothes, even for the dancers. How did the people get attract to those apsara dancer with a good cover costume? Of course the dancer still had many amazing styles, but the audiences, like the king of the people lost the sexiest part of the dancer. What they did is they made the dance costume became more color full with very bright material and mostly with the golden color.
Apsara dance still very famous in Cambodia, They dance for the Royal families, the president, the tourists and also for the local people in the musical hall.

There are some Cambodian artists, who's living abroad like Em Srey pov. She is a Cambodian American singer and also an actress. She like to be a part of the sexy Khmer Apsara dancer back in the time 7 centuries. She made an amazing photo shoot with her created sexy Apsara costume. Of course if we can compare with her nice tiny body to the Apsara dancer in 1500 year ago, maybe she can be a beautiful one.

The Cambodian culture still very strict. We can not wear clothes or dresses half naked in Cambodia. If the police they see, we can get caught.
