Callistemon

Hi friends!  Today I found a flower in Istanbul, which I really liked in the Turkish city of Sinop on the Black sea. In Sinop the entire embankment is strewn with colorful brushes. They are called Callistemon citrinus. In Turkish Fırça çalısı-Afgan, can be translated as Afghan Bush brush, if literally. Look at how small the brush hairs are twisted, like miniature roses  So a new flower is born. Just amazing!  Then the hairs start to bloom...  Callistemon bright red (Callistemon coccineus F. Muell.). Shrub from 1.5 to 4 m tall, with silky-pubescent young shoots. The leaves are narrowly lanceolate, relatively small, 6 cm long and 0.5 cm wide, pointed at both ends, dense, prickly. On the top and bottom sides of the sheet are clearly visible numerous dark spot glands. The Central vein and edges of the leaf are thickened. Inflorescences are large and thick, 10 cm long, 3-5 cm in diameter, very effective, thanks to the combination of Carmine filaments and greenish-yellow anthers.   Callistemon citrinus completely dissolved his curls  A little sunset for such beautiful flowers  Bush all strewn with brushes, they are like a holiday-fireworks!  Callistemon-a light-loving plant, prefers bright sunlight, direct sunlight pritenyayut only in hot afternoon hours. Suitable for growing near the Windows of the southern exposure. Can grow in the Western and Eastern Windows. The Northern window of the plant may not have enough light for growth and flowering. In summer, the plant is recommended to be exposed to the open air. Keep in mind that the purchased plant or plant after a long cloudy weather to the sun's rays gradually accustom, to avoid sunburn.  In a friendly company is always more fun to sparkle in the sun!
