my dear friends of this beloved community, I hope everyone is well. I am also well, Alhamdulillah. I started my post today by wishing everyone good health.
We have been taught since childhood, "Always be good."
Being good is certainly a great quality. Standing by others, helping everyone, these are what make us great as human beings. But have we ever thought that by always being good to others, we hide our own pain?
In our daily lives, we often forget our own wants or needs because we care about what others want. Maybe we couldn't say no to someone, maybe we sacrificed our time or peace for the happiness of others. At first, it seems like it doesn't matter. But gradually, fatigue, frustration, and suppressed anger build up inside.
The truth is that being good to yourself is the most important thing. If you don't keep yourself good, it's not possible to be good to others. So you have to learn to say "no" in some places. You have to be strict, learn to speak your mind. Maybe this will upset someone, move away. But you have to remember, those who are truly yours will understand everything.
Sometimes it is not a crime to prioritize your own well-being. Rather, it is necessary. For example, taking time to rest, chasing your dreams, traveling a little for your own mental peace, these are essential for life. It is not our responsibility to keep everyone happy all the time. It is our responsibility to keep ourselves well. Let them think about the well-being of others. Everyone should prioritize themselves.
So, if being good to everyone always comes at a cost to yourself, then it's wise to be a little bad for yourself. That's actually being truly good, being responsible to yourself. Because if you're not by your side, no one can truly be by your side.
