There are some idols which do not show immense devotion to anyone, nor do they aim to show extreme luxury and riches. Moreover, there is no respite from the fears expressed in the above discussion. Islam has not shown narrow mindedness and intolerance towards such idols. There was no sympathy in it.
Statues made as toys for little boys and girls are considered at this stage. Such as dolls, cats, dogs, birds, etc. There is no question of showing any devotion to them or staying in the heart. Children, boys and girls just play with it, not worship it. Hazrat Ayesha (RA) said:
I used to play with the girls in the presence of Rasulullah Kareem (SAW). My girlfriends used to come to me and hide in fear of the Prophet, but the Prophet would be happy for them to come to me and play with me.
Another narration is quoted, once the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: What are these? He said: These are my dolls. Said: What is it in the middle of them? Said? That's a horse. He asked: What is on the horse? He said: Oduto fan. Said? Is the horse a fan again?
Hazrat Ayesha (RA) said: ‘Did you not hear that Hazrat Sulaiman, the son of David, had a winged horse?’ Hearing this, the Holy Prophet (SAW) laughed. He smiled and his teeth showed Mubarak.
The boys and girls play with the dolls mentioned in the hadith. Hazrat Ayesha (ra) was a very young girl at the time of marriage.
The hadith containing the above conversation proves that it is permissible to allow children to play with such portraits.
However, it has been narrated about Imam Malik (ra) that he considered it makrooh to buy such dolls and other toys for children. And Qazi Yaz says it is permissible for little girls to play with dolls.
These toys include dolls, which are made from sweets and sold at fairs. Then they eat it themselves.
