All marine life is halal.

Animals are divided into two groups in terms of their location and habitat. Either they live at sea, or they live on land.

 

Marine creatures are creatures that live and breathe in water and whose water life is unimaginable. In the eyes of the Shari'ah, basically it is all halal, no matter where it is found. And what is meant by marine dogs or marine pigs and other such fish species are all considered halal. The question of whether he was captured or killed or hunted - whether he is a Muslim or a Kafir - is completely irrelevant.

In fact, Allah has bestowed upon His servants a great deal of grace by making lawful all that is in the sea and all that is in it. No special category of marine life has been declared haram and no conditions have been imposed on their slaughter.
