First defensive setup:

Coach Jose Peseiro has been using the 4:4:2 formation to setup the team and he could continue to use the formation when the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on the Dessert Foxes of Algeria. That will affect the kind of defenders who will make it to the starting lineup of the team.

Kevin Akpoguma could make it to the starting lineup of the team as he could be used as one of the central defenders for the team. He could be paired with William Troost Ekong in the centre back position. Calvin Bassey could switch to the left full-back position while Ola Aina could be the one to play in the right full-back position.

Second Defensive Setup:

The coach can also use the 3:4:3 to setup the team for the international friendly match against th the Dessert Foxes of Algeria. Chidozie Awaziem could be used as one of the central defenders for the team, he could be paired with William Troost Ekong in the centre back position.

The coach could deploy Kevin Akpoguma as one of the central defenders while Calvin Bassey could be used in the left full-back position for Nigeria when they take on the dessert Foxes of Algeria on Tuesday. Ola Aina could be the one to play in the right full-back position for the team.
