Insulting speech is harmful to every person.
Insulting speech is harmful to every person
Humans are social creatures. There is no alternative to mutual communication, cooperation and respect to survive in society. But when one underestimates another, says hurtful or insulting words, it has a negative impact on one's mental, physical and social life not only temporarily but also in the long term. Therefore, it can be said that insulting speech is very harmful to every person. A detailed discussion on this matter is given below.
1. Psychological damage
Insulting speech deeply hurts people. When a person's self-esteem is damaged, a crack appears in the self-esteem of the person. If someone keeps hearing insulting comments repeatedly, he loses faith in himself. This leads to frustration, depression and even extreme decisions like suicide.
2. Deterioration of social relationships
Mutual respect is very important to maintain good relationships in society. But when someone uses abusive language in the family, workplace or among friends, the relationship is ruined. This leads to unrest in the family, quarrels in marital life or a breakup in friendships. Social bonds can weaken and create an anarchic environment in society.
3. Damage to personality and character
A humiliated person starts to develop negative ideas within himself. He starts thinking of himself as incompetent or weak. As a result, personality development is hampered. An humiliated child may lose the opportunity to become a creative and confident person when he grows up.
4. Impact on physical health
Mental stress also affects a person's physical health. Hearing abusive speech regularly can cause anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia and digestive problems. In the long run, this can cause heart disease or neurological problems.
5. Disruption in work life
If someone is repeatedly insulted at work, his motivation is lost. He becomes disinterested in his work and productivity decreases. Many times he is forced to quit his job. This causes harm to both the individual and the organization.
6. Damage to the insulter
Not only the victim, but the person who speaks insulting words also loses respect in society. People avoid him and create a negative impression about his character. As a result, his social and family relationships are damaged.
7. Religious and moral perspective
All religions have taught the use of decent language. Islam says that cursing or insulting someone is forbidden and a sin. It has been taught to respect others and establish peace in society by speaking sweet words. Therefore, speaking insulting words is not only a social crime, but also prohibited from a religious perspective.
8. Alternative path
Instead of insulting words, positive, encouraging words should be spoken. If someone needs to be corrected, it is better to do so in polite language. By establishing respectful communication systems in the family, educational institutions and workplace, it is possible to reduce the tendency to use abusive language.
Although abusive language may seem small, its impact is very profound. It destroys a person's mental peace, harms physical health and breaks up social relationships. On the other hand, the use of sweet and polite language creates good relations, love and respect between people. Therefore, we should all be moderate in our speech, respect each other and stay away from abusive language.
